The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended stakeholders in the state for the successful conclusion of the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency by-election.
This was contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Friday by the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris.
StarReporters reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had, on Thursday, declared the APC candidate, Kamilu Sa’idu, winner of the by-election.
It also reports that the declaration followed the conclusion of the supplementary election in two registration areas with five polling units which were cancelled after the Aug. 16 by-election.
The result declared by the Returning Officer of the election, Prof. Lawal Sa’adu, showed Sa’idu scoring 8,182 votes while the PDP candidate polled 5,544 votes.
The APC leadership in the state appreciated the efforts of stakeholders, especially INEC, security agencies and others, for the peaceful conduct of the by-election.

“The state APC chapter wishes to commend and congratulate the people of Kaura Namoda South in particular and members of the party in the state over the party’s victory in the just-concluded by-election.
“The party’s victory in the election has demonstrated true commitment and belief of APC supporters in the state.
“APC remains the party to beat in the state,”* Idris said.
He assured the electorate that the people’s interests would always be prioritised for the growth and development of the state.
*“We want to particularly thank the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle and Sen. Abdulaziz Yari for their continued support and for promoting unity, peace and stability in the party.
“The party leadership also appreciates its supporters, especially the youth and women groups, for being law-abiding during the by-election,”* he said.
The party leadership urged APC stakeholders in the state to maintain unity and synergy beyond the 2027 general elections.
