Women and traders in Ogbogoro community, located in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, took to the streets in a peaceful protest against the recent disbandment of the Onelga Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC).
The demonstrators, predominantly women engaged in local trade, urged the chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government, Chijioke Ihunwo, to reinstate the local vigilance group. They expressed concerns about a significant increase in criminal activity in the area since the disbandment of OSPAC.
During the protest, participants emphasized the crucial role that OSPAC played in ensuring the safety of their goods in the market, underscoring the need for effective local security measures to protect their livelihoods. The women called for immediate action to address their safety concerns and restore peace in the community.
