A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Solomon Akwashiki (SDP/Lafia Central Constituency), has urged Nigerians to vote for leaders that have fear of God and human sympathy.

Akwashiki said that for good governance to thrive in the country, leaders must emerge through merit and competency.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts made the call while playing host to the Think Before Conclusion Group, Jenkwe, Obi LGA, and the Youth Wing of the TEKAN/ECWA Bloc, Nasarawa State Chapter, on Monday in Lafia.

The lawmaker said that if Nigerians elect leaders with human sympathy, the fear of God, and appointments were given through merit without any sentiment, it would go a long way in improving the standard of living of Nigerians.

“I want to appreciate you for your visit and for showing accolades on my leadership style.

“Actually, I have done well, as you have all said. By God’s grace, I will continue to touch the lives of my people positively.

“I want to use this medium to call on you and other Nigerians to vote for leaders that have human sympathy, leaders that have fear of God, and leaders with integrity,” he said.

According to him, hunger and poverty do not know Christians, Muslims, or tribes, and he urged the people to continue to do away with ethnic and religious politics.

Akwashiki assured the people of quality representation at the state legislature.

On the call on him to contest for House of Representatives, LaLafia/Obi Federal Constituency come 2027, Akwashiki said that he was still focusing on providing dividends of democracy to his people of Lafia Central Constituency.

” “I will answer your calls at an appropriate time. But for now I am focusing on providing infrastructure and other dividends of democracy to my people,” he said.

Earlier, Mr Bulus Dauda, the Acting Chairman of SDP in Obi LGA and Chairman of the Think Before Conclusion Group, Jenkwe, Obi LG, said that the visit was to appreciate Akwashiki for his quality representation at the state legislature.

“You’re truly Mr Project of the Lafia Central Constituency. We in Jenkwe/ObI LGA also want to enjoy the dividends like your constituents.

“It’s on this note that we are calling on you to contest for the House of Representatives seat, Lafia/ObI Federal Constituency, come 2027,” he said.

On his part, Mr Vanduma David, the Chairman, TEKAN/ECWA Bloc, Nasarawa State Chapter, also said that the visit was to appreciate Akwashiki for his good work at the state legislature.
