Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas Assumes Duty as Rivers Sole Administrator
Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd) has officially taken up his role as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State. In an interview with reporters at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Ibas announced plans to meet with the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, and Service Commanders to receive formal briefings on the state’s operations.
Reflecting on his arrival at the airport, Ibas expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the people of Rivers, noting that Port Harcourt has always felt like home to him. He emphasized a sense of calm in the city despite the ongoing political climate, stating, “Port Harcourt City will return to where it has always been.”
Ibas also acknowledged the important role journalists play in the state, commending them for their dedication to their profession. He assured that he would address the press in detail at a later date.
