The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award by the College of Health Sciences. The award was presented on August 20, 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the growth, development, and advancement of the College in his capacity as Vice Chancellor.
The presentation was led by the Acting Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. O. N. Ekeke, who was accompanied by top management staff during a courtesy visit. In his remarks, Prof. Georgewill expressed gratitude to the College of Health Sciences for the honor and commended the leadership for their commitment to excellence in medical education. He also urged the College to remain steadfast in its mission to produce highly skilled healthcare professionals capable of delivering quality healthcare across Nigeria and beyond.
