The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) has approved the upgrading of the University of Port Harcourt’s Ashgroove Academy to the prestigious Diamond status.
This follows a national assessment of its JUPEB programs in tertiary institutions.

According to information released through the official LinkedIn handle of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, the Governing Board of JUPEB granted the academy the Diamond rating. The approval came after a thorough evaluation exercise.

StarReporters correspondents gathered that this is the first time Ashgroove Academy has achieved such a high rating since its inception. The evaluation process, which is conducted annually, aims to recognise and reward institutions demonstrating exceptional performance in the delivery of JUPEB A-Level programs.

In the release, the university congratulated the Acting Director of Ashgroove Academy, Dr. Nkoyo Ntuen. It also commended her management team, staff, and students for what was described as a “superlative performance.”

The university further praised JUPEB for its meticulous national assessment. It urged stakeholders at Ashgroove Academy to maintain the high standards that earned them this distinguished recognition.

Further findings by StarReporters revealed that the JUPEB Board, upon reviewing the panel’s recommendations, officially confirmed Ashgroove Academy’s Diamond status. This recognition is awarded to institutions that achieve a pass rate of 90% to 100% in their programs.

The university expressed hope that this milestone would serve as motivation. It encouraged the Ashgroove Academy community to sustain and even improve their academic excellence.
