The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, was present at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2025 Policy Meeting, held in Abuja on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Professor Georgewill, a prominent voice in Nigeria’s higher education landscape, joined other vice-chancellors, provosts, rectors, and key stakeholders at the high-level policy gathering aimed at setting admission benchmarks and shaping national academic direction.

His presence at the meeting underscores UNIPORT’s active engagement in shaping national policy on university admissions and maintaining standards across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The JAMB policy meeting serves as an annual platform for deliberating on critical admission-related matters such as UTME cut-off marks, admission quotas, and equity-driven policies, aligning with the Federal Government’s education objectives.
