StarReporters has just received an update from the Office of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), revealing the institution’s latest international engagement with strategic partners from China.

According to a post by Prof. Owunari Georgewill, Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, the institution is set to host a high-profile Nigeria-China Collaboration Conference in the Niger Delta.

The event will be led by Professor Liu Hongwu of Zhejiang Normal University, who will arrive at UNIPORT with his delegation for what promises to be a landmark engagement between the two countries.

The conference, scheduled to take place at the University of Port Harcourt and its Confucius Institute Unit, will feature an elaborate program bringing together members of the Chinese community in Nigeria and a host of distinguished scholars from across academic and diplomatic circles.

Speaking on the benefits of the collaboration for the University, Prof. Georgewill disclosed that the event will foster deeper academic and cultural exchanges, expand research cooperation, and bolster the university’s reputation as a hub for international partnerships. He urged all staff and students to serve as good ambassadors of the university as they receive their Chinese guests.

With preparations in full gear, the University of Port Harcourt community is gearing up to host what is expected to be a historic event in the annals of Nigeria-China educational relations.
