The Tinubu Stakeholders Forum (TSF) has praised the Federal Government for launching the Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP), a major initiative aimed at creating 2.5 million jobs over the next two years.

Malam Danjuma Muhammad, Chairman of the group, gave the commendation in a statement on Monday in Abuja, shared with correspondents.

The group described LEEP, recently unveiled by Vice President Kashim Shettima, as a significant social intervention designed to offer sustainable employment opportunities while preparing young Nigerians for future workplaces through vocational training and re-skilling.

TSF stated that the programme is yet another testament to President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

It said: “LEEP is not only a robust response to youth unemployment but also a policy framework that strengthens the private sector’s capacity to absorb and retain skilled talent.”

The forum further emphasised: “By investing in up-skilling and vocational empowerment, the administration is addressing both the supply and demand sides of the labour market — equipping citizens with relevant skills while energising the private sector with a more competent and prepared workforce.”

TSF also expressed enthusiasm over the remarks by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, who said that LEEP would expand access to sustainable employment and enhance productivity through skills development.

“We fully align with this direction and urge Nigerian youths to seize the opportunities LEEP offers,” TSF added.

The group further called on all stakeholders, especially private sector players, to key into LEEP and contribute towards building a workforce that will drive national development. (NAN)
