An 18-year-old, Habeeb Abubakar, was on Friday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over the alleged theft of a motorcycle worth N750,000.

Abubakar, whose address was not disclosed, is facing two counts of conspiracy and theft. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the prosecution, Inspector Olagoke Adegbenro, the alleged offence occurred on May 23 at about 3:00 p.m. in the Akobo area of Ibadan.

The prosecutor told the court that the defendant, along with others still at large, stole a Bajaj motorcycle valued at N750,000, property of one Nasiru Mohammed.

He noted that the offences contravene Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Magistrate Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the matter to July 22 for hearing.
