Spotify has unveiled its ‘Global Impact List in Nigeria’, highlighting the top 30 Nigerian songs that have made the biggest international impression in the first half of 2025.
The curated list celebrates Nigerian artistes whose music has resonated powerfully with global audiences, according to the streaming platform.
Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, said the 2025 edition showcases the “incredible range and global appeal of Nigerian music.”
Afrobeats star Rema leads the pack, with his hit track “Baby” claiming the number one spot as the most exported Nigerian song so far this year. The milestone comes shortly after the one-year anniversary of his acclaimed album ‘HEIS’, further solidifying his influence on the international music scene.
While Afrobeats dominates the chart, gospel music also finds representation with Lawrence Oyor’s “Favour” standing out as the only gospel entry on the list, underscoring the genre’s growing global presence.
The list also highlights the rise of new-generation Nigerian talent, with emerging artistes Chella and Minz securing spots through their standout tracks “My Darling” and “Number One”, respectively. Their presence reflects the global appetite for fresh, boundary-pushing sounds from Nigeria.
Nigerian women continue to shape the global music landscape, with Ayra Starr earning two entries, “All The Love” and “Gimme Dat”, while Teni also made the list with her fan-favourite hit “Money.”
Davido emerged as the most featured artiste with nine tracks on the list, followed closely by Burna Boy with five.
Okumu noted that their consistent performance internationally speaks to their “cross-generational resonance” and enduring global appeal.
