Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has received three international awards at the 2025 Global Power Forum in New York City, held alongside the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
A statement by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Friday in Awka, said the governor was honoured with the African Public Service Excellence Award, the African Governor of the Year Award and a Certificate of Special Recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina, USA.
According to the statement, the awards were in recognition of Soludo’s visionary leadership and Anambra’s growing reputation on the continental and global stage.
It added that the South Carolina House of Representatives commended him for an outstanding career and service, highlighting his journey as a professor of economics, former Chief Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The citation also acknowledged his role in strengthening Nigeria’s financial standing and positioning the country as a leading economic force in Africa.
During the forum, Soludo delivered a keynote address titled “Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities; The Anambra State Example.”
His presentation highlighted ongoing reforms and initiatives in Anambra, aimed at positioning the state as a beacon of innovation and sustainable development across Africa and the Caribbean.
