In a generous move to promote holiday cheer, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved a N100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state. This marks the second consecutive year that civil servants will receive this Christmas bonus, and notably, it is the first time pensioners have been included in this initiative.
The Head of Civil Service, George Nweke, announced the directive in a statement, revealing that Governor Fubara initiated this plan on Monday, paving the way for immediate implementation to ensure a joyful yuletide celebration for all beneficiaries.
Nweke confirmed that the 2023 Christmas bonus will be disbursed to workers across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as to pensioners from both the civil and public service sectors.
In highlighting the significance of the bonus, George Nweke described it as a direct reflection of Governor Fubara’s “Rivers First” mantra, which aims to prioritize the well-being and happiness of the people of Rivers State across all sectors of the economy. The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens during this festive season and beyond.
