Rep. Adesola Adedayo (APC-Lagos) has described the ongoing nationwide voter registration as vital to ensuring President Bola Tinubu’s success in the 2027 general elections.
Adedayo, who represents Apapa Federal Constituency, said the President’s re-election prospects were closely linked to the effectiveness of the registration exercise across Nigeria.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Famuyiwa Stephen, the lawmaker urged All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure eligible citizens register before the polls.
He said he had personally been engaging residents of his constituency to sensitise them on the importance of obtaining voter cards, noting that many potential supporters only required guidance to complete the process.
Adedayo likened President Tinubu to “a wartime leader in the mould of Alexander the Great and Winston Churchill,” praising his courage in tackling the nation’s economic and security challenges.
He appealed for public patience, stating that Tinubu’s ultimate mission was to leave behind a legacy of lasting service and transformation.
Reflecting on Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos governor, Adedayo said initial criticisms of his policies eventually gave way to widespread commendation as their impact became visible.
“Mark my words, those criticising him today will soon hail him. Asiwaju is a strategist who plans deeply and delivers when it matters most,” he said.
He reaffirmed confidence in the President’s leadership and urged party leaders to sustain momentum, adding that strong mobilisation efforts would make Tinubu’s re-election bid smoother.
“The people are responding positively. If we keep encouraging them to register, the task of re-electing our leader will become easier. The process has already begun,” he added.
