President Tinubu Directs Justice Ministry to Address Concerns Over Tax Reform Bills

ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Federal Ministry of Justice and the National Assembly to address the concerns surrounding the recently transmitted Tax Reform Bills.

The bills have faced significant criticism since their introduction, with detractors arguing that they disproportionately affect the northern region of the country. Additionally, some critics contend that the proposed tax measures could exacerbate the economic struggles faced by many Nigerians.

In response to the public outcry, President Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Justice to collaborate with the leadership of the National Assembly to refine the bills and address the various criticisms.

The presidential mandate aims to ensure that the final legislative proposals are equitable and considerate of the socio-economic realities faced by citizens across the nation.

As the discussions progress, all eyes will be on the outcome of this collaborative effort, which seeks to balance fiscal reform with the welfare of Nigerians.
