Renowned Port Harcourt-based music producer and artist Preye Izogu, widely known as Pizzibeats, expressed concerns over the underutilization of social media by artists in the city. He believes this trend significantly hampers their ability to compete with peers in larger markets like Lagos and other major African cities.

Pizzibeats, whose latest project, an Extended Play titled “Piz the Ripper,” has garnered attention, highlighted the untapped potential of social media platforms as vital tools for promoting musical content. “Social media can be a game changer for artists, allowing them to enhance their visibility and connect with a wider audience,” he stated.

The producer contrasted this situation with that of Port Harcourt’s comedians, who he noted have been more proactive in leveraging social media to promote their work. He urged musicians in the area to follow suit and harness the full advantages that these platforms offer.

Additionally, Pizzibeats appealed to fans and music lovers in Port Harcourt to support local talent by actively engaging with and patronizing their music. By doing so, he believes the local music scene can thrive, enabling artists to gain the recognition they deserve.

As the conversation around the role of social media in the music industry continues, Pizzibeats remains optimistic that with collective effort, Port Harcourt artists can elevate their profiles and make a significant impact on the music landscape.
