Police authorities in Ebonyi State have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers of a middle-aged man, Uduma Idam-Chima, who was abducted in Amasiri community, Edda Local Government Area.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the development in Abakaliki on Friday during an interview with StarReporters.

According to him, the abduction occurred on 14 June.

“Yes, we have deployed our officers to the area; we have started investigation to uncover the root cause of the abduction,” he said.

StarReporters recalls that members of the Oso-Edda Development Town Union staged a protest on Thursday, calling for urgent action from security agencies to ensure the safe return of their kinsman.

Mr Ama Aba Emeh, President-General of the Oso-Edda Town Union, condemned the incident and urged for long-term measures to restore peace in the area.
