Oyo State Government has handed over six refurbished Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to the Oyo State Police Command to support its security operations.
The Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, presented the vehicles to the state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola, on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan on Wednesday.
Lawal reiterated the administration’s dedication to ensuring the safety of lives and property, noting that the refurbished APCs would significantly enhance police effectiveness.
He stated that Oyo remains one of the few states in Nigeria placing deliberate focus on security, urging the police to maintain their commitment to public protection.
In his response, Adenola commended the Makinde-led government for its consistent support through the provision of vehicles and other logistics.
He acknowledged that substantial funding had been directed towards improving security in the state and assured residents that the police would intensify efforts to ensure safety and peace.
