Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti has appointed Dr Olubamise Moses as the new Provost of the State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Ado-Ekiti by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode.
The statement said Olubamise emerged through a rigorous and transparent selection process conducted by the Governing Council of the institution. His tenure is to commence on Oct. 2, 2025. He will succeed Dr Cecilia Adebayo, whose tenure expires on Sept. 30, 2025.
Other principal officers whose appointments were also approved include Mr Ayodeji Sunday Emmanuel as Registrar, Mr Dada Olaniyi Kolade as Bursar, and Mr Folorunso Femi Joseph as Librarian.
Olubamise, who hails from Ijan-Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government Area, was born on Dec. 2, 1975. He earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Human Physiology from the University of Ilorin in 2001.
He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, in 2012, before completing a Master of Science in Health Education in 2017 and a PhD in Health Education in 2023, both from the same institution.
A Fellow of the College of Biomedical Engineering, Olubamise joined the services of Ekiti College of Health Sciences and Technology in 2006 as a Scientific Officer/Tutor. He was promoted Lecturer II in 2010 and rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer in 2024. Until his new appointment, he served as Director of ICT at the college.
Oyebanji congratulated the new Provost and other appointees, urging them to work with relevant stakeholders to transform the institution.
