In a generous gesture aimed at enhancing the festive spirit this holiday season, Chijioke Ihunwo, the chairman of the Obio Akpor Local Government, has approved a Christmas bonus of thirty thousand naira for all civil servants within the council.

In a statement released on Friday, Ihunwo expressed that this initiative is designed to ensure that all civil servants in Obio Akpor can enjoy a joyful Christmas and New Year celebration with their families. The chairman acknowledged the economic challenges faced by residents, particularly the rising costs of food and basic necessities, which informed his decision to introduce this financial support.

Ihunwo emphasized his ongoing commitment to prioritize the welfare of council workers and the community at large in all his administrative programs. He encouraged civil servants to remain loyal and dedicated to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whom he praised as a selfless leader focused on the welfare of ordinary citizens. “Governor Fubara’s economic policies and community development projects reflect his deep concern for the growth and well-being of our people,” Ihunwo added.

This Christmas bonus is expected to provide much-needed assistance to civil servants as they prepare for the holiday celebrations, fostering a sense of community and goodwill during the festive season.
