Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is scheduled to inaugurate key infrastructure projects in Zamfara on June 17 as part of activities marking the second anniversary of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration.

The development was announced in a statement released in Gusau by Malam Suleiman Idris, spokesperson to the governor.

According to the statement, Obasanjo will unveil the newly upgraded Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, which has been equipped with modern, world-class medical facilities.

“The former President will inaugurate the renovated Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, on Tuesday, June 17,” the statement noted. “The hospital has been fully renovated and is now equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.”

In addition to the hospital, Obasanjo is also expected to commission newly constructed roads in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of the state capital. The projects are part of the administration’s Urban Renewal Programme.

Over the past two years, the Lawal administration has embarked on a series of infrastructural developments, including the construction and rehabilitation of schools, hospitals, and roads across strategic locations in Zamfara.

The government has also prioritised security by providing logistics and operational support to security agencies to combat banditry and kidnapping across the state.
