The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,600 corps members to Edo State for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation programme, set to begin nationwide on Tuesday, July 29.

Dr Frances Ben-Ushie, State Coordinator of the corps, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Benin.

She stated that the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony would take place on August 1 at the permanent orientation camp opposite Igbinedion University, Okada.

“The state governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is expected to declare the orientation course open, while the Chief Judge of Edo will administer the oath of allegiance to the corps members during the ceremony,” she said.

The coordinator expressed gratitude to the people of Edo for their continued hospitality and support toward corps members.

“We sincerely appreciate the good people of Edo for their favourable disposition to corps members over the years. We further solicit the usual assistance in making the one-year mandatory national service a memorable one for the incoming corps members,” she added.
