Senator Ned Nwoko (APC–Delta North) has expressed deep appreciation to party stakeholders and constituents for endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, as well as himself and Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Nwoko, in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, described the endorsement as an unsolicited vote of confidence that has generated widespread goodwill across Delta North and beyond.
The endorsement followed a senatorial meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and members held on June 14 at Mount Ned, the senator’s residence in Idumuje-Ugboko, Delta State. Stakeholders from the nine local government areas of Delta North were present.
“It is instructive that the stakeholders unanimously acknowledged the social impact of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda and my legislative efforts in the lives of the people,” Nwoko said.
“With great humility and sense of responsibility, I thankfully relish the gale of endorsements from the party and the ordinary people.”
He reaffirmed his full support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, and urged his constituents and Nigerians to continue their unwavering backing for the leaders in their pursuit of a better Nigeria and a progressive Delta.
Nwoko praised the gathering for helping to strengthen internal party cohesion, saying the APC senatorial meetings—rotated among federal constituencies—have become key to consolidating unity and progressive politics within the party.
“The attendance at the meeting by thousands of APC stakeholders, including party leaders, women, youths and various groups, has kept me happily overwhelmed with ornate gratitude,” he stated.
He recalled that previous meetings had held in Agbor and the Ndokwa/Ukwuani axis before his party defection in February, and said he was pleased to host the latest edition at his home.
“I am not only glad that I offered my country home as a venue, but also fulfilled that it became a rallying vista for celebration and consolidation of the goals and gains of our great party,” he added.
Nwoko, who chairs the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation, also acknowledged the national leadership of the APC, led by Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, for sustaining party unity and progress.
He commended Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, along with other leaders including serving and former lawmakers, for their presence and contributions at the event.
Addressing reports of dissent from a few local APC chairmen, the senator downplayed their significance, stating that they neither objected during the meeting nor disrupted its proceedings.
“One or two tiny voices of dissent, sponsored or not, can never match the echo of truth, reason and established order,” he said.
“As their conscientious senator, democrat and brother, I beseech them to join me and other stakeholders in our renewed commitment to building a stronger, peaceful and united APC.”
Nwoko concluded by describing the endorsement as a timely boost as he marks his second year in the Senate, pledging renewed dedication to serving the people of Delta North.
