A resource verification team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) has visited the University of Port Harcourt to inspect the institution’s preparedness to begin a new Bachelor of Science (Education) program in Agricultural Science.
The visit was intended to validate earlier submissions made by the university regarding its readiness to offer the program under the Faculty of Education.
According to details made available to correspondents, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Cheta Williams, led the university team in providing the necessary documents and materials required for the verification process. The team was commended by the institution for ensuring that all necessary provisions were made available.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, appreciated the NUC team for what he described as a thorough job in evaluating both the human and material resources that the university intends to deploy for the commencement of the program.
Findings indicate that the visit represents one of the final steps before the university can receive approval to launch the program and begin student admissions.
