The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Enugu State has deployed over 1,000 personnel to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
State Commandant, Dr. Elijah Willie, announced the deployment in a goodwill message on Saturday, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to safeguarding residents during the festive period.
“We have deployed over 1,000 officers and men, both in uniform and plain clothes, across the state,” Willie stated.
He noted that the Command’s patrol units, armed squads, Joint Task Force (JTF) personnel, Rapid Response Teams, and Counter-Terrorism Units had been strategically positioned to prevent security breaches.
“On this joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the Command extends its warmest felicitations to the Muslim faithful in Enugu State and across Nigeria. May this celebration bring you peace, happiness, and divine blessings after the spiritual rejuvenation of Ramadan,” he said.
Willie commended Governor Peter Mbah for his continued efforts in strengthening security in Enugu State and expressed gratitude to NSCDC Commandant-General Dr. Ahmed Audi for his leadership in equipping the Corps to fulfill its mandate effectively.
He urged residents to collaborate with the NSCDC by providing timely and useful intelligence while assuring them of confidentiality.
“Once again, I wish you all a happy, peaceful, and blissful Eid-el-Fitr celebration. May the lessons of Ramadan guide us towards a more harmonious and secure society,” he added.
