The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has received the 2025 National Assembly Public Accounts Committees (PAC) award in recognition of its commitment to transparency, prudent financial management, and strict audit compliance.

The award was presented during the closing ceremony of a three-day National Conference on Public Accounts and Fiscal Governance held in Abuja, jointly organised by the Senate and House of Representatives Public Accounts Committees.

Themed “Fiscal Governance in Nigeria: Charting a New Course for Transparency and Sustainable Development,” the conference highlighted accountability in public finance.

Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Rep. Bamidele Salam, commended the NPA for maintaining exemplary standards in financial reporting.

“Their unwavering commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and audit compliance has not gone unnoticed,” he said.

Senate Public Accounts Committee Chairman, Sen. Ahmed Wadada, described the award as a mark of institutional integrity.

“The NPA stood out for its proactive audit compliance and support for accountability processes. Its transparency efforts have become a benchmark in the public sector,” he noted.

Receiving the award on behalf of the authority, NPA Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantosho, reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to reform and operational openness.

Represented by the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Ms Vivian Edet, Dantosho said fiscal responsibility remains central to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
