The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, NESREA, has sealed 14 facilities across the Federal Capital Territory for violating environmental laws.

Among the sealed facilities are Shaanxi Construction on Airport Road, Clover Court in Mabushi, Skyscape Real Estate in Sabon Lugbe, and the popular Ibiza Night Club.

NESREA’s Director-General, Professor Innocent Barikor, who led the operation on Wednesday, said the affected facilities failed to comply with environmental regulations despite receiving three warning letters.

Professor Barikor said the violations include failure to submit mandatory environmental documents and non-adherence to guidelines regulating their operations—issues which, he warned, pose risks to lives and property.

He said the agency will continue to monitor activities in the construction, quarrying, and entertainment sectors, and urged all stakeholders to prioritise compliance and adopt sustainable practices.

Barikor reaffirmed NESREA’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and healthy environment for all Nigerians.
