Member, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Solomon Akwashiki (SDP, Lafia Central Constituency) has assured his constituents of quality legislation and representation that would yield more dividends of democracy for the people.
Akwashiki gave the assurance on Monday in Lafia when he hosted the Eggon Political Youth Forum for Equity and Good Governance, Lafia Chapter, and Gwandara Development and Cultural Association (GWADECA).
The lawmaker who is the House Minority Whip and Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, said that he was committed to making laws that would alleviate the sufferings of the people.
“Hunger and poverty did not know Eggon, Gwandara, or other tribes, as well as Christians and Muslims.
“I will be fair to everybody irrespective of our religion and ethnic backgrounds.
“I am a man that fears God because every leader will give an account of his stewardship at the end of the day,” he said.
Akwashiki assured them of his continued commitment and determination to empower and initiate different policies and programmes that would have a direct bearing on the lives of his constituents.
The minority whip appreciated the groups for the visit and reassured them of quality representation at all times.
Earlier, Mr Umbugadu Ayuba Ahmed, leader of the Eggon Political Youth Forum for Equity and Good Governance, Lafia Chapter, said that the visit was to identify and assure Akwashiki of their support at all times.
“You are truly the Mr Project of our time. You have empowered, given jobs, and initiated many projects.
“We are praying that God should take you higher,” he said.
On his part, Mr Yakubu Salihu Mohammed, GWADECA Chairman, said that the visit was to identify with the lawmaker for his purposeful leadership.
The groups urged Akwashiki to contest for the House of Representatives come 2027.
