The University of Port Harcourt recently played host to Most Rev Patrick Eluke during his Bishopric visit, which took place at the Chapel of Annunciation on campus. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, staff, students, and members of the University community joined Reverend Fathers, Sisters, Knights, and parishioners in welcoming the Bishop for the special occasion.
In his remarks, Prof. Georgewill expressed gratitude to the Bishop for gracing the institution with his presence, describing it as a blessing to the University family. He highlighted the peace, harmony, and unity that have continued to define life on campus, irrespective of ethnic background, gender, or age, and commended both staff and students for their tireless efforts in sustaining the University’s growth.
The Vice Chancellor further thanked God for the uninterrupted academic sessions, notable achievements, and the successes that have repositioned the University of Port Harcourt as a center of excellence.He emphasized that the institution’s ability to maintain stability and unity has encouraged members of the community from across Nigeria’s North, South, East, and West to come together in building a stronger future for UniPort.
The event also featured prayers for the Bishop’s ministry and the continuous upliftment of the University.The Bishop, who was warmly received, acknowledged the University’s commitment to fostering peace, development, and inclusiveness.
The visit was marked by solemn worship, vibrant participation, and renewed commitment to working together for the betterment of the institution. It reinforced the University of Port Harcourt’s role not only as a center of learning but also as a unifying ground for faith, progress, and national development.
