A rare basketball card featuring Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant has sold for nearly $13 million, breaking the all-time record for a sports card. The 2007–08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman card includes game-worn jersey patches and autographs from both NBA legends, making it the only one of its kind.

The card sold for $12,932,000 at Heritage Auctions in Dallas, beating the previous record of $12.6 million set by a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card. It is now the second most valuable piece of sports memorabilia ever sold, behind Babe Ruth’s 1932 “called shot” jersey.

Auctioneers described the card as a “holy grail” for collectors. Its pre-auction estimate was around $6 million, but intense bidding drove the price much higher. The sale took place on what would have been Kobe Bryant’s 47th birthday, giving the moment added significance.

The record highlights how premium sports memorabilia has evolved into a global market for investors and fans. With authenticity, rarity, and the star power of two basketball icons, the Jordan-Bryant card has become a cultural artifact as much as a collectible.
