Nollywood superstar Mercy Johnson was unveiled on Friday as the Brand Ambassador for RYD Learning, a cutting-edge educational platform dedicated to equipping African children with technological skills to excel in the global tech industry.

The appointment was revealed during an event in Abuja, where Mr. Philip Etim, the Founder of RYD Learning, emphasized the platform’s mission to offer high-quality tech education to children, regardless of their background or location.

“Our mission is to empower African kids with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the tech industry and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities,” Etim said. “Since its inception, RYD Learning has trained over 1,000 children across Africa, Australia, Europe, and North America through interactive virtual classes and hands-on guidance.”

The platform offers a comprehensive curriculum in programming languages like Python, targeted at children between the ages of six and sixteen. Etim highlighted that the curriculum is designed to be fun and engaging, focusing on developing skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, communication, and innovation.

Mercy Johnson, visibly excited about the opportunity, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, particularly as a mother and advocate for children’s education. “I’m thrilled to partner with RYD Learning. It’s essential to equip our kids with the skills they need to succeed in today’s tech-driven world,” she said.

The RYD Learning leadership team also expressed their excitement about Johnson’s involvement. Mr. Michael Boyo, Co-founder and Managing Partner, remarked, “We’re honored to have Mercy Johnson on board. Her passion for education and influence will help us reach more kids and make a greater impact.”

Other key figures within the organization, including Mr. John Akadi, Co-founder and Partner Lead in Africa, and Mrs. Remi Odunaike, Faculty Lead and Co-founder, noted that the partnership would allow them to further extend their mission of providing accessible, high-quality tech education to children in Africa and beyond.

As RYD Learning’s new brand ambassador, Johnson will play a crucial role in promoting the platform’s mission of offering STEM education to children worldwide, helping to inspire the next generation of tech innovators.

The RYD Learning programme is now open for enrolment, with new eight-week sessions beginning monthly. The platform allows parents to select their preferred class days and times, regardless of location, ensuring accessibility for children across the globe.

This partnership with Mercy Johnson is expected to bridge the tech gap for African children, helping them explore the world of technology and create brighter futures.
