The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Ikioye Orutugu, has congratulated Muslims in the state on the celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement on Friday that the CP described the occasion as a reminder of the Prophet’s life of love, humility, sacrifice, and service to humanity.
“In the spirit of the season we felicitate with the Muslim faithful in Anambra,” Orutugu said.
He urged Muslims to embrace the Prophet’s teachings, which reflect peace, sacrifice, tolerance, respect, and peaceful coexistence.
The CP prayed that the occasion would further strengthen commitment to peacebuilding, unity, and national development, while reaffirming the command’s determination to sustain security gains.
He also appealed for continued cooperation, intelligence sharing, and community partnership to maintain peace across Anambra.
