The Police on Thursday, arraigned a 24-year-old man, Alaba Adebayo, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged possession of HP laptop and Denny foam.
Adebayo, whose house address was not given, is facing a charge of possession of HP laptop and Denny foam.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Insp Olubu Apata, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb.17, at about 14:05 p.m in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendant had in his possession one HP ProBook 450G7 laptop computer and Denny foam, suspected to have been stolen.
Apata said the offence contravened Section 345 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the case file and assemble his witnesses.
The defence counsel, Mr Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to grant the defendant bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Ajibade, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20, 000, with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until March 24 for hearing.
