A 24-year-old man, Isaac Oladele, on Monday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N573,000 in cash and four generators valued at N7 million.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 at about 8:00 a.m. at No. 53, Unity Road, Ikeja.
The stolen items were said to belong to a company, Yennie Godie Eaglet Ltd.
The prosecution said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015, which deals with stealing.
When the charge was read, Oladele pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate L. A. Owolabi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N400,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum, adding that the addresses of the sureties must be verified.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 7, 2025, for further hearing.
