A Lagos State Chief Magistrates’ Court in Badagry has sentenced a 22-year-old man, Annex Salisu, to four years’ imprisonment for stealing and vandalising transformer parts.

Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni delivered the judgment after Salisu pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of felony and stealing. Layeni directed that the convict serve his term at the Badagry Correctional Centre.

During trial, prosecutor ASP Edet Ekpo said Salisu committed the offences at about 9:30 p.m. on July 28, 2025, at Church-Gate along Badagry Expressway.

Ekpo told the court that Salisu stole and vandalised transformer cables, cover and nuts valued at N10 million, belonging to Century Dye and Chemical Ltd.

He added that the offences contravened Sections 287, 173, 175 and 235 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
