The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Electoral Committee has announced plans to hold a major stakeholders’ meeting ahead of the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for 12 July.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Monday by the Committee Chairman, Mr Babatunde Ogala, and Secretary, Mr Nurudeen Bamidele, in Lagos.

The meeting is set to take place on Wednesday at the APC Secretariat in Ikeja.

According to the committee, attendees will include Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, Chairman of the State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), as well as the three serving senators representing the state.

Also expected at the meeting are party chairmen from the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), APC members in the House of Representatives, and members of the State House of Assembly.

The committee added that APC apex leaders from the 57 LGs and LCDAs, cleared chairmanship aspirants, and outgoing council chairmen will also be in attendance.

Members of the State Executive Council of the party are also slated to participate in the meeting.

Correspondents report that the APC primaries in all council areas are scheduled for Saturday. The party has opted for an indirect primary system, with delegates drawn from executive members of the LGAs and LCDAs.
