Community leaders in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State have praised Senator Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, for facilitating a critical infrastructure project in the state.

The leaders expressed appreciation for the rehabilitation of the 76.5-kilometre Malando–Ngaski–Wara–Auna Road, which connects Kebbi and Niger states and serves as a key transport corridor between Northern and Southern Nigeria. The project, undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Works, began on 28 January and addresses a long-standing infrastructure gap in the region.

Alhaji Mamuda Mohammad-Warra, a former Commissioner for Lands and Housing in Kebbi, hailed Bagudu’s role in turning what he described as an “impossible dream” into a tangible development.

“The long-awaited Malando–Ngaski–Wara–Auna road is finally taking shape under the leadership of Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, former governor and now Minister of Budget and Economic Planning. Sen. Bagudu, widely known as a visionary and selfless leader, has shown that true leadership is about service. His inclusive approach to development across ethnic and regional lines is exemplary,” he said.

Mohammad-Warra also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for swiftly responding to the people’s appeal and supporting infrastructure development in Kebbi.

“There’s no way the economic fortunes of Northern Nigeria can improve with dilapidated roads,” he added.

Also speaking, former Chairman of Ngaski LGA, Alhaji Abdullahi Buhari-Warra, described the roadwork as a landmark achievement.

“This road, once a symbol of neglect, is now a beacon of economic revival. Currently, Epsilon Sky Global, the contractor, has scarified and cleared over 55 kilometres. Asphalt is being laid on a primed stone base, while rigid reinforced concrete pavement is being constructed with shoulders on both sides,” he explained.

He noted that travel time had been cut by more than 50 per cent, with a sharp decline in accidents and vehicle breakdowns. He also praised the contractor’s professionalism and pace.

Motorists and residents echoed similar sentiments, crediting Bagudu’s collaboration with federal authorities as a clear example of the Renewed Hope Agenda taking shape in Kebbi.

“As the road nears completion, we are filled with gratitude and prayers for the leaders driving such progress,” one of the drivers stated.

Alhaji Hussaini Abubakar, Project Manager at Epsilon Sky Global, affirmed the company’s commitment to quality and timely delivery.

“We’ve established a modern project yard with advanced machinery and a skilled workforce to ensure timely execution. This aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for critical infrastructure and inclusive growth across Nigeria,” he said.

Abubakar also acknowledged the leadership of President Tinubu, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Minister of Works David Umahi, and Senator Bagudu for their collaborative efforts.

“We assure all stakeholders that we remain fully committed to the contractual terms and to delivering excellence,” he concluded.
