FC Bayern Munich has confirmed that German international, Joshua Kimmich, has extended his contract with the club until June 30, 2029.
The announcement, made on Thursday via a club statement, marks nearly a decade since Kimmich joined the Bundesliga giants, during which he has won multiple domestic and international titles.
Kimmich, 30, has been a key figure for both Bayern Munich and the German national team, winning eight Bundesliga titles, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup, among other honours.
FC Bayern President Herbert Hainer praised the club’s management for securing Kimmich’s future, emphasising his leadership qualities.
“Compliments to our sporting management and our board. FC Bayern needs players who not only bear the shirt but also responsibility – on and off the pitch. And Joshua Kimmich is one of those players,” Hainer said.
Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also highlighted Kimmich’s influence as a leader within the team and the national squad.
