A political organisation, Soludo Grassroots Warriors Initiative (SGWI), has reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising strong grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the forthcoming Anambra governorship poll slated for November 8.
The convener of the group, Mr Rogers Orjiewulu, made this known on Monday in Awka during a strategic meeting attended by coordinators from the 21 local government areas of the state.
Orjiewulu noted that the office of a state governor was too significant to be left in the hands of inexperienced contenders, describing most of Soludo’s opponents as “non-starters.”
He lauded the coordinators for their steadfastness and confidence in the current administration, describing them as the political machinery capable of securing victory at the polls.
“Governor Soludo has performed so well that traditional rulers across the three senatorial zones conferred on him the title of ‘Olu-Atuegwu,’ which signifies pragmatic and result-oriented leadership,” Orjiewulu said.
He added that the governor’s achievements in his first term made his re-election a natural choice for the people of Anambra, stressing that “you do not change a winning team.”
Orjiewulu expressed confidence that with the combined efforts of the group’s coordinators across the state, Soludo would emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.
