The Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex C. Otti, OFR, has approved the constitution of the Abia State Homeland Security Board. This development marks another significant step in the state government’s ongoing efforts to enhance internal security and safeguard communities across the state.
According to a public service announcement released on July 22, 2025, the newly appointed board members bring decades of professional experience in military, legal, and public administration to the task of building a safer Abia.
The members of the board include:
- Brigadier General N.V.U. Nnorom (Rtd.), PhD – Chairman
- Colonel Chidi Kalu Ukoha (Rtd.) – General Manager and Chief Executive Officer
- Mr. Chukwunenye Alajemba – Senior Special Assistant on Homeland Security and Board Member
- Assistant Commissioner of Police Allwell Okwuonu (Rtd.) – Board Member
- Barrister Ngozi Ula Ukoha – Member
- Mrs. Ugo Chidi Onyeabor – Board Secretary
The announcement was formally issued by Professor Kenneth Kalu, FCA, the Secretary to the State Government.
With this appointment, the Abia State Government reaffirms its commitment to creating a robust and responsive security framework to protect lives and property, while ensuring peace and stability throughout the state.
