Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers has charged the newly appointed Surveyor-General of the state to work professionally, diligently and with integrity  to ensure effective service delivery.

Fubara made the remark while swearing in Mr Peter Ogolo, the new Surveyor-General of the State and Permanent Secretary of the Survey Department in Port Harcourt.

He described Ogolo as a long serving public officer who ranked high among his peers, and had contributed immensely to the establishment of most development roadmaps for the state.

He said that his appointment was not because he hailed from Opobo, but was based purely on merit.

According to Fubara, he is the most senior, most qualified, and even the one who interviewed the person he is succeeding now, the records are there with the Civil Service Commission.

Fubara said that Ogolo was the signatory to the survey plans of the greater Port Harcourt City Development.

He advised Ogolo to be professional and also defend and protect the interest of the state.

He also advised him to serve the state selflessly, honestly with integrity, as posterity would remember his legacies forever.
