The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Adamawa State has deployed 698 regular and special marshals across the state to ensure safety and smooth vehicular movement during the Easter celebrations.

Mr. Yahaya Adikwu, the Sector Commander, made this known in a statement released on Friday by the command’s Public Education Officer, SRC Abdullahi Tukur, in Yola.

According to Adikwu, 563 regular marshals and 135 special marshals have been strategically positioned along major highways, inner city roads, and known festive routes to enhance road safety and reduce traffic congestion.

The command also mobilised 17 operational vehicles, three ambulances, and one heavy-duty tow truck to aid in rescue missions and clear road obstructions promptly.

“The Command has stationed standby ambulances along critical corridors for emergency response and rescue operations,” he said.

Adikwu added that the FRSC was working in collaboration with sister security agencies and emergency stakeholders to ensure peaceful and accident-free celebrations in the state.

He noted that mobile courts would be on standby to prosecute traffic offenders in real-time, particularly targeting infractions such as drunk driving, speeding, use of expired tyres, failure to use seat belts, and mobile phone use while driving.

The sector commander urged motorists to strictly adhere to road safety rules and cooperate with traffic officers on duty, stressing that reckless driving and route violations would not be tolerated.

He also called on pedestrians and other vulnerable road users to be alert, avoid risky road-crossing behaviours, and stay aware of traffic flow.

“The command is fully committed to ensuring a crash-free celebration, but we need every citizen’s cooperation to make that possible,” Adikwu concluded.
