The Federal Government has announced that the Independence Bridge (Marina-bound) will be closed for repairs starting April 1 to allow for essential maintenance work.
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
She stated that the closure would remain in effect until the end of May 2025.
According to her, the temporary shutdown will impact traffic from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku heading towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2.
Kesha urged motorists to plan their routes accordingly and explore alternative roads to minimize congestion during the repair period.
She expressed regret over any inconvenience caused and appreciated the public’s patience and cooperation in ensuring the continued safety and durability of the infrastructure.
