Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the goals outlined in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP-25).
During a recent meeting in Abuja, Walson-Jack expressed the importance of collaboration with media organizations to effectively communicate information regarding the FCSSIP-25 initiative.
The FCSSIP-25 was launched to comprehensively reform the Nigerian civil service by enhancing public service delivery and addressing challenges such as inefficiency, lack of meritocracy, and outdated practices. The plan emphasizes targeted strategies focused on capacity building, performance management, innovation, and accountability, with the ultimate goal of establishing a more professional and effective public service.
Walson-Jack highlighted the urgency of accelerating the FCSSIP-25 implementation, which is scheduled to conclude on December 31, 2025. She noted that her team inherited the FCSSIP-25 upon taking office and believes in the necessity of fast-tracking reforms under this plan.
“With the deadline approaching, we have adopted the theme: ‘FCSSIP-25 Final Print: Delivering Results – Our Year of Accomplishment.’ We are dedicated to achieving the goals of this strategy before its conclusion,” she stated, appealing for enhanced media partnership in spreading awareness of their activities.
Walson-Jack praised the media’s credibility, referencing its longstanding reputation for reliable news dissemination, saying, “It is well-known that if a report comes from a reputable source, it is authentic.”
In response, the Managing Director of the media outlet, Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, commended Walson-Jack for her distinguished career in public service and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to discuss collaboration. He voiced his commitment to supporting the civil service reform agenda and sought assistance from the HCSF in repositioning the media outlet as Africa’s leading news provider.
“This engagement is vital for revamping our organization and reclaiming our status as a premier news content provider on the continent,” he noted. Ali also highlighted the media outlet’s existing partnerships with international news agencies and ongoing discussions with others for further collaboration.
