David Omereji, the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, has announced a new policy aimed at reinforcing attendance among council workers, declaring that the practice of receiving salaries without fulfilling work obligations will no longer be tolerated.

Speaking during an interactive session with staff at the Council headquarters, Omereji stated, “Going forward, any worker who does not come to work will not receive his or her pay at the end of the month.” He emphasized the importance of attendance and urged council staff to avoid actions that could undermine the smooth running of the council’s administration.

The chairman also addressed specific concerns regarding staff placements, acknowledging issues where non-health workers had been assigned to the Health Department. He assured employees that an Audit panel has been established to review and rectify these placement complaints.

Additionally, Omereji pledged to look into the problem of office accommodation, promising that his team would seek solutions to enhance the working environment.

Earlier in the meeting, Dr. Juliana Emeto, the Head of Local Government Administration in Emohua, indicated that the gathering aimed to provide the council chairman with insight into the challenges faced by staff.

The adjustments outlined by Omereji reflect a commitment to improving accountability and productivity within the Emohua Local Government Council.
