Speaking at the opening of the 2025/2026 Legal Year of the Edo Judiciary in Benin, Osagie urged lawyers to conduct themselves with dignity, competence, and honesty.

He commended the Edo Judiciary, led by Chief Judge Justice Daniel Okungbowa, for its purposeful leadership and reforms that have strengthened the state’s judicial system.

According to him, “the Bar and Bench are inseparable in the pursuit of justice,” stressing that lawyers must be courageous while judges remain impartial.

Osagie noted that the Edo government was committed to improving judicial infrastructure, providing logistical support, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective justice delivery.

He further highlighted the importance of peace and security for development and the administration of justice, urging stakeholders to support speedy trials and the prosecution of criminal cases.
