An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan has fixed Oct. 13 for the sentencing of a 24-year-old man, Dominic Awuhe, who pleaded guilty to maliciously damaging burglary proofs in a residential building.

Awuhe, whose address was not provided, was charged with housebreaking and wilful damage to burglary proofs in the Moniya area of Ibadan.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, ordered that Awuhe be remanded at the Agodi Correctional Facility pending the review of the case facts and subsequent sentencing.

The Prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 7 at about 9 a.m. in Moniya, Ibadan.

Adegbenro said the damaged burglary proofs, belonging to one Joseph Akinpade, were valued at N250,000.

He added that the offence contravened Sections 413 and 451 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
