An Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the remand of a 40-year-old man, Seun Olakunle, for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing an electrical cable valued at N3 million.

Chief Magistrate B.A. Sonuga gave the remand order after the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing. The case was adjourned until 17 July for the review of facts and sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the offence took place on 19 June at about 6 a.m. at No. 5, Aliqoda Street, in the Oreyo area of Ikorodu.

He stated that the offence contravened Sections 307(2), 339 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
