The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, on Thursday reaffirmed the university’s commitment to enhancing facilities and fostering academic excellence.
Olatunji-Bello reaffirmed this at the Students’ Orientation Programme of LASU School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAB), at Badagry Campus, Lagos.
According to the vice chancellor, some of the interventions are aimed at boosting the morale of staff to give their bests in providing an atmosphere that supports students success.
“As we continue to modernise our facilities, due consideration will be accorded to human capital to ensure our products compete with graduates of other universities across the world,” she said.
She said the goal for creating the LASUSBAS programme out of the LASU Foundation, JUPEB programme was to create increased opportunities for knowledge seekers to acquire the requisite education.
“This is needed to either facilitate Direct Entry admissions for full-time programme for those who wish to acquire a degree, or create a solid foundation upon which those of you who have other goals can build your personal aspirations.
“The curriculum of our programme is rich, relevant and comprehensive enough to support whatever your aspirations are after this one year programme.
“For this reason, I warmly congratulate you for making the choice to choose our LASUSBAS programme ahead of others.
“The orientation programme is an avenue to ensure students are acquainted with the rules and regulations of the university and what the university expects from every student.
“It is, therefore, the responsibility of the students to become thoroughly familiar with contents of the LASU School of Basic and-Advanced Studies programme,” she said.

Prof Yunus Dauda, the Director of LASUSBAB addressing the student on Thursday
Prof. Yunus Dauda, Director, LASUSBAB, said the school was established in 2016 to give opportunity to students seeking admission to 200 levels in all the faculties after successful completion of one year extensive programme.
