Bellazir Energy Ltd., a Nigerian-owned firm, has pledged to transform petroleum logistics in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector by addressing longstanding inefficiencies and supporting national energy security.
Speaking at the launch of the company’s logistics services on Wednesday in Lagos, Chief Executive Officer Ms Christabel Aniemeka said the firm was committed to solving persistent challenges in petroleum distribution through innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
“Today is not just about launching a company, it’s about igniting a movement,” she said. “Bellazir Energy is committed to delivering efficient, sustainable, and world-class petroleum product distribution that powers industries, energises enterprises, and uplifts communities.”
Aniemeka noted that the company seeks to tackle issues such as supply chain inconsistency and safety risks, adding that her experience at Waltersmith Group shaped her leadership and vision.
“Our goal is to power Nigeria into a new era of greatness, with the right vision, partners and unwavering commitment,” she added.
In his keynote address, Mr Osten Olorunsola, Chairman of the Energy Institute Nigeria, praised the company’s leadership and described the initiative as timely, given Nigeria’s ongoing energy transition.
He identified key industry problems including underutilised pipelines, outdated refineries, and poor logistics, and stressed the need for robust investment, decentralised distribution, and regulatory stability.
Olorunsola also highlighted eight trends influencing the sector’s future, such as the rise of multi-energy hubs, decarbonisation efforts, regional supply chain resilience, digital logistics, cybersecurity, decentralisation, local refining, and reform-driven investment.
According to him, Bellazir Energy is well-positioned to set new standards in downstream petroleum logistics.
The event drew attendance from key industry stakeholders, including Ms Patricia Simon Hart, Co-founder of Women in Energy Network; Mr Julius Rone, GMD/CEO of UTM Group; Mr Iroghama Ogbeifu, Managing Director of Starz Investment; and a representative of Dr Gabriel Ogbechie, Chairman of RainOil Ltd.
